Refrigeration Engineer

What We're Looking For

This is an exciting opportunity for a Refrigeration Engineer to join our team.

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you'll play a part in keeping some of the UK's biggest brands on the road, responsible for conducting inspections, maintenance, repair, and servicing of customers' fleets.

Hours: Monday - Friday; 8am - 4:30pm

Overtime available at time and a half - OTE 55K

Hours of work: Monday - Friday; 8am - 4:30pm (with one weekend in five)

Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair of all makes and models of transport refrigeration units including Carrier Transicold on different sites.
  • Installation of transport refrigeration units including trailer, truck and light commercial vehicle units.
  • Electrical, electronic, mechanical and refrigeration fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Able to work sufficiently and effectively remotely on busy customer premises away from workshop environment.
  • Able to be part of a call out rota to cover out-of-hours breakdowns.
  • Support workshops team members including Apprentice Engineers as required.
  • Accurately record time and parts to complete jobs and associated details on mobile application.
  • Ensuring a first-time fix on all repairs where possible.
  • Manage van stock to ensure correct parts are always carried.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Health and safety at work and workshop cleanliness is of paramount importance.

Qualifications:

  • F-Gas C&G 2079-11.
  • Valid UK driving licence as using company service vehicle.
  • Working remotely and travelling to customer premises for the majority of work.
  • Installation experience of transport refrigeration units.
  • Experience working in this role/a similar role.
  • Excellent customer service mindset.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively.
  • Must be hardworking and self-motivated and a productive Engineer.
  • Ability to tackle all aspects of repair and servicing transport refrigeration units.
  • Diagnostics skills / qualifications - desirable.
  • Fleet experience.
