Freelance Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor\n📍 Near Portsmouth\n💰 £400–£450 per day (Dependant on experience level - Outside IR35)\n\nA leading regional main contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a £30 million Industrial Manufacturing project near Portsmouth.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a major scheme from a commercial perspective, overseeing both external works and internal fit-out packages as the project progresses through key stages.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will take responsibility for managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring effective cost control and financial management throughout both the external and internal phases.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * Managing and overseeing external and internal trade packages\n\n * Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management\n\n * Preparing and managing valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\n * Cost reporting and forecasting\n\n * Ensuring commercial compliance with contract requirements\n\n * Working closely with site and project teams to drive performance\n\n * Supporting the successful delivery of the fit-out phase following externals\n\nRequirements\n\n * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment\n\n * Strong background in delivering industrial or manufacturing projects preferred\n\n * Experience managing both external works and internal/fit-out packages\n\n * Ability to work independently and manage multiple aspects of the commercial function\n\n * Strong contractual knowledge and commercial awareness\n\n * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Day rate of £400–£450 (Outside IR35)\n\n * Long-term freelance opportunity on a major project\n\n * Opportunity to work with a reputable regional contractor\n\n * Exposure to both external works and full internal fit-out packages\n\nThis role would suit a commercially astute QS/Senior QS who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and is confident managing packages through to completion.\n\nKeywords - Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project Quantity Surveyor, Lead Quantity Surveyor, SQS, QS, PQS, Freelance Surveyor, Freelance Quantity Surveyor
