The Role

As Shift Supervisor and reporting to the Warehouse Shift Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of an allocated department/section of the warehouse function. Key responsibilities will include;

- Planning and managing designated resources to undertake the day-to-day work responsibilities ensuring that business demands are met.
- Undertake recruitment and selection for warehouse employees.
- Set and monitor operational KPI targets.
- Carry out performance reviews and disciplinaries.
- Train and develop team ensuring that natural successors are created for the future.
- Focus on continuous improvement within the warehouse; Lead improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate team/ company communications within the warehouse, delegating team briefs and encouraging commitment positively throughout the operation.
- Deputise for the Assistant Operations Manager when required.
Skills

- Demonstrable experience in similar supervisory role(s) within a fast paced retail distribution environment.
- Any exposure to a semi- automated pick/pack operation would be advantageous.
- Wide knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Good working knowledge of KPI's.
- Strong communication and leadership skills
